”OPEC RAISES FUEL PRICES, RESTRICTS PRODUCTION. IT’S TIME FOR A NEW LOOK AT U.S. ENERGY,” SAYS DARIA NOVAK.

“Doesn’t Joe Courtney understand we need energy independence and free market solutions to alternative energy? This is no time to be sitting down on the job,” accuses Novak, Republican Candidate for Congress in Connecticut District 2.

“OPEC’s leaders met and decided to raise prices on U.S. consumers. But we don’t have to take it. America has made tremendous strides towards energy independence, in spite of Joe Courtney supported regulation like the Clean Power Plan that has crippled our coal industry and has fought to slow the development of natural gas and oil resources.

“But however you feel about CO2 emissions and the climate change issue, we must develop new, alternative energy sources. Energy sources that will take our energy bills –home heating and cooling, gas for your car – down. And we must do this,” continued Daria, “not the way Joe Courtney would – by taking money from your pocket in higher taxes and giving it to Government picked winners like Solyndra.

“No. What we need is innovative energy including solar, wind, and battery technology delivering cheap, emission-free energy. The price of that energy is plummeting. It’s win-win for consumers and business. We can help make that happen faster.

“The key is free market solutions, not more Joe Courtney big government programs spending your hard earned money.,” said Novak. “As a Member of Congress I will create free-market incentives, such as tax rate cuts and lightening burdensome regulations to accelerate the development of far less expensive, emission free energy.  This will allow free enterprise to accelerate an already breathtaking trend. That’s smart policy. Take that OPEC.

“I chop my own wood for the winter,” concluded Novak. “So you can be sure energy policy will be one of my top priorities in Congress.”
